Use as a pump:

• Ensure the valve is unobstructed. With the plug closed, centre the main opening over your nipple. It should feel comfortable and your nipple should not be pushing against any part of the Shell.
• Press and release the back of the Shell to create suction. Position and pull your bra over the Shell. Make sure it's still firmly in place with no gaps around the edges.
• If the suction generated feels uncomfortable, gently press the valve to open it and regulate the suction.
• If you feel the suction dropping, press the centre of the back to increase the suction.  This suction keeps the milk flowing and may need to be repeated several times while pumping.  Be cautious of your milk level before pressing on the pump.

NOTE: Suction can be adjusted by applying different pressure on the back of the Shell. Be sure to keep an eye on the milk level to make sure it doesn't overfill.

Use as a collector:

• If you want to use it as a breast pad alternative, you can apply it with no suction - simply press the valve to release all the pressure, or open the plug before placing it over your breast. Secure the Shell in your bra.

Removing & storing milk:

• When finished, press the valve to open it and release pressure, then use your finger to break the seal around your nipple.
• Lie the pump on its back while you get ready to transfer your milk.
• Pull out the plug from the outlet and pour out the milk from the outlet into a container before storing.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Do not use the Shell when exercising or operating heavy machinery. Do not lean forward or lie down with plug open, as your milk may spill out the top.
• Volume is an approximation and should be used for general reference only.
• Please ensure you are familiar with your country's guidelines on the safe storage of breast milk.
• Ensure your Shell is emptied regularly to store your breast milk in accordance with these recommendations.
• Milk collected over extended periods and left at room temperature for too long should not be fed to your baby.
